It would also be nice to have a Font Color drop down. Lots of toolbar controls impliment this type of deal, so it should be pretty easy to add.

Well, this has not been implemented until now, but a new styled button bar is planned. I will reactivate this wish and discuss this with our developers.

I would also request that a font color button be added to the button bar. Most users expect that button to be near the font formatting buttons (underline, bold, italic, etc).
